Lawsuit Against Pornhub

Last week, two survivors of child sex trafficking filed a joint lawsuit against MindGeek, the parent company of Pornhub. Videos and images of their sexual abuse were posted on Pornhub and other MindGeek-owned sites and still appear, despite persistent attempts to remove them.

While both women wish to remain anonymous, they still want to share their stories. One woman was drugged, raped and filmed at 16. Her abuser profited every time the video was downloaded on one of MindGeek's websites. MindGeek never attempted to verify her identity, age, or inquire about her status as a victim of trafficking. The second plaintiff's story is shockingly similar. She was a minor who was repeatedly raped and abused by adults on film for the profits of Pornhub.

The plaintiffs are suing because others have been financially benefiting from their abuse, which violates the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, among other laws.
