In recent years, we have seen many children's books being published that are pushing a worldview that opposes Christianity. From A is for Activist to Heather Has Two Mommies, the culture is fighting for our children's hearts, minds and loyalty. But parents are fighting too! Parents nationwide are working hard by showing up to school board meetings, looking over their school's curriculum and voting in elections as ways to help keep their kids from being exposed to coercive material.
But it's not enough to merely protect our children from bad literature. We must also be nourishing our children's minds with good literature. C.S. Lewis once wrote, "the world does not need more Christian literature. What it needs is more Christians writing good literature." The books that children read should reveal the good, true and beautiful in the world.
