ENDORSEMENTS : JANICE SHAW CROUSE, PH.D.
POSTED: SEP 26, 2008

“There is no question that the work of the National Abstinence Clearinghouse played a pivotal role in the dramatic turn-around in three major trends affecting teens’ well-being. Experts from the left and the right are astounded that teen sexual activity is down, teen births are down and teen abortions are down. Anybody can look at those trends and see that those downturns parallel the broader distribution of abstinence programs in the public schools and in community centers. We’ve seen dramatic changes in cultural attitudes, too. Teens can be abstinent and cool. The National Abstinence Clearinghouse should take a bow because their messages and their efforts on so many cultural, political and legislative fronts played a huge role in the progress we’ve made in paving the way for our teens to have a brighter future. With increased sophistication in abstinence programming and the whole-person approach that helps teens build character and confidence, teens today have the skills and information that they need to make wise choices –– and they are doing just that! Thanks, National Abstinence Clearinghouse for providing solid information, for being out-front in addressing the cultural challenges and for being thoroughly professional, effective and trustworthy advocates for abstinence.”
